Joshua DeaDoctoral StudentJoshua is a second-year doctoral student in the USM Counseling Psychology Program. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2019 from San Diego State University. He is interested in researching marginalized groups in the workplace. His thesis will explore how marginalization and discrimination negative effect minority groups in the workplace such as the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC community.

Madison EstradaDoctoral StudentMadison is recent graduate as of August 2023! She obtained a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology in 2016 from Pittsburg State University (PSU). Following graduation from her master’s program, she became licensed as a Licensed Master’s Level Psychologist (LMLP) in the State of Kansas and worked as a mental health counselor at the Bryant Student Health Center at PSU. Her experience with working in a university counseling center has influenced her current research interests. For her dissertation, she investigated how the use of stepped-care service models at university counseling centers may affect job burnout and job satisfaction in university counseling center clinicians. Additional research interests include the mental health of university students and variables such as self-efficacy, perceived benefits and barriers, and behavioral modeling that influence satisfaction in various domains of health for college students. Her thesis examined factors that influence college students’ involvement in a health-promoting lifestyle based off of Nola Pender’s Health Promotion Model.
Dillon HarperDoctoral StudentDillon is a fifth-year doctoral student who obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2019 from Utah Valley University. He is interested in vocational and career related research topics. Currently, he is interested in researching the relationship mindset has on different academic and career outcomes for first generation college students. Investigating mindset and whether it shares any association with predictors of success is a primary interest. His thesis and dissertation explored Growth Mindset's relationship to career optimism, and other variables, in college students and working adults. Dillion is completing his his pre-doctoral internship at Utah Valley University during the 2023-2024 academic year.
Rheanna Standridge
Doctoral StudentRheanna Standridge is a fifth-year Doctoral student. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Florida. Her research interests include examining hiring perceptions for ex-offenders, efficacy of reentry programs, and workplace attitudes towards returning citizens. Her thesis examined the interaction of education, specialized training, and offense type in hiring perceptions of hypothetical ex-offenders. She recently defended her dissertation which examined the role of race, offense type, and disclosure of a criminal history of the likelihood of hiring. She is currently on internship at the Bureau of Prisons.
After earning her Ph.D., Rheanna plans to work as a psychologist in a hospital, working with both the forensic and general population. When Rheanna is not studying, she enjoys spending time with her dogs, bachata and salsa dancing, and enjoying the outdoors.
Doctoral StudentJessica Schultz received her Bachelor's degree in psychology from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville in 2018. She is interested in exploring workplace attitudes toward the non-religious population, how the quality of the college experience can affect later career happiness, and how workplace happiness influences overall quality of life. Her dissertation compared different career development theories and their applicability to marginalized workers' well-being. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Veteran's Medical Center in Hampton, VA and is now completing a post-doctoral position in a private practice.

- Anecia Flewellen: completed her honor's degree in Psychology in May 2023 and headed out west to Colorado seeking her next adventure.
- Sunny Young: Sunny graduated with her bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2023 and was admitted into USM Counseling Psychology Master's Program.
- Victoria Riley-Lomedico: Victoria graduated in 2022 from the USM Counseling Psychology Master's program. She serves as an academic advisor at Coastal Carolina University.
- Andrew Hatch: A graduate of our USM Counseling Psychology Master's program in 2021, Andrew now works at USM as a Career Counselor in the Career Center.
- Dylan Richard: In 2021, Dylan completed his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and now is faculty member at Arizona State University.
- Alexander Hoffman: Completed his BS in Psychology with Honors at USM in 2020 and is now enrolled a master's program at the University of Tennessee -Chattanooga.
- Carly Chadick: Graduating from the USM Counseling Psychology PhD program, Carly now is a staff psychologist at a federal prison in Georgia.
- Ben Wu: After graduation, Ben is currently working as staff psychologist serving Veterans.
- Ryan Stone: Having completed his master's degree, Ryan accepted a job working for a community mental health agency.
- Jinhao Chi: Having developed a passion for research, Jinhao is set to complete a doctoral degree in Experimental Psychology at Southern Miss in Fall 2019. He has accepted a research position back home in China.
- Deirdre Paulson-O'Donovan: Deirdre was just hired as the Director of Behavioral Health of Mayo Clinic in Eau Clarie, Wi.
- Richard Ladner: Richard finished is master's in counseling psychology in 2016 and is working in academic advising at USM Gulf Coast campus.
- Anna Womack: Dr. Womack completed her PhD in 2016 and currently is the Assistant Director of Post-Doctoral Affairs and Columbia University. She also works in a group practice part-time.
- Rebekah Rayburn: Rebekah finished with her master's in counseling psychology in 2015 and is currently working as a therapist.
- Stormy Speaks: Completed an undergraduate honor thesis in 2013, Explaining leisure interests, personality, work centrality, and vocational interest. She recently finished her Master's in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at the University of West Florida and now works in Human Resources in Nashville.
- Louren Reed: Completed a Master's in Counseling Psychology in 2013. Louren is the Food Access Director at North Helpline, a human services agency in Seattle.
